Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Peter enlisted in the U.S. Air Force following his graduation from Connetquot High School in Bohemia, New York. From Basic Training at Lackland AFB, Texas to assignments in California and Germany, Peter finished up his military career in civilian status with 2 years of service as the Youth Sports Director for the 1,500 dependent children living at Hahn AB, Germany.
In the autumn of 1985, Peter returned to New York City and enrolled at Hunter College in Manhattan. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Film Production and Media Studies in 1989 with an eye on Hollywood. After 5 years as a performer – actor, writer, comedian, waiter and bartender, he landed a position at Madison Square Garden as the manager of their Club Bar & Grill Restaurant during the NY Rangers Stanley Cup season in 1994. His next step at The Garden was catering sales and coordination in 1995 and then quickly advanced to Manager of Special Event Sales from 1996 – 1999 and increased departmental revenue over 200% in that span.
In January of the new century, after 6 years dedicated to the World’s Most Famous Arena, Peter accepted a position as the Senior Manager of Special Events at ESPN The Magazine. Two years later, he was asked to join their television networks as Director of Special Events Marketing for ESPN, Inc. Promoted to Vice President in 2005, Peter managed a team of 12 employees and was responsible for all aspects of more than 100 Hospitality Events annually – from “conception to completion” and the company’s Ticket Operations. Additional roles included a seat on the idea committee of the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research while at ESPN.
In November 2007, Peter became a managing partner of The Sports Alliance, one of the nation’s leading corporate event marketing/management companies since 1989. By delivering media partners combined with pass-along rights to clients, The Sports Alliance trademark is ensuring that client brand marketing expectations are consistently exceeded. In the summer of 2009, Peter accepted a business development position with Metro Multimedia and now incorporates his skills and vision into the complete spectrum of full-service Special Event creation, acquisition, development, planning, partnership inclusion and expert execution (www.metromultimedia.com) including the launch of the Met Event Group in January, 2010
